Our Approach

We believe supplements should be precise, evidence-based tools that make a measurable difference to health.

At EVIDOSE®, every decision is grounded in scientific data and designed to solve real-world problems.

1. Addressing Quality Issues

Too many bacteria supplements are designed for marketing impact rather than clinical efficacy. As food supplements, bacteria supplements are not held to pharmaceutical standards, meaning quality and performance can vary dramatically across the category.

We reviewed the clinical and manufacturing landscape and identified several recurring quality issues that could compromise real-world effectiveness:

  • Limited strain-specific evidence
Many bacteria supplements lack robust, strain-specific human clinical evidence, meaning benefits are often inferred rather than demonstrated.
  • Inadequate clinical dosing
It is common for products to contain bacterial doses below the amount shown to be effective in human clinical trials, reducing the likelihood of meaningful benefit.
  • Low bacterial survival
Many bacteria strains are poorly equipped to survive stomach acid and bile, meaning they never reach the gut alive.
  • Potency loss over shelf life
The number of live bacteria (CFU) can decline significantly during storage, so the dose at consumption may fall well below the label claim.
  • Limited transparency
Full disclosure of bacteria genus, species, and strain together with third-party testing is uncommon, making it harder to assess product quality and scientific credibility.

These quality issues matter. Digestive discomfort affects a large proportion of
adults, while modern diets, stress, and antibiotics can all disrupt the gut microbiome. At the same time, low vitamin D status remains widespread,
influencing immune function and overall wellbeing.

Our first formulation was developed to address these gaps; combining clinically studied live-bacteria strains, proven to reach the gut alive delivered at a clinically studied dose with 2000 IU of vitamin D3 to support immune function. Our formula includes overages to ensure the dose of 35 Billion CFU remains viable through end of shelf life.

2 . Science as a Design Principle

Every EVIDOSE® product begins with a single question: what does the evidence support?

Our formulations are built from peer-reviewed research, clinical data, and expert input, led by our founder, a Registered Associate Nutritionist.

Choosing the right strains:
We include only bacterial strains that meet strict scientific and safety standards. Each one is:

  • Produced under controlled fermentation conditions
  • Verified by whole genome sequencing for identity and safety
  • Stabilised through freeze-drying to survive storage and digestion
  • Assessed in human clinical trials for their effects on gut and overall health.

Anything less is excluded.

Dose selection:
Efficacy depends on dose. Each strain is included at levels consistent with those used in high-quality human studies — avoiding the underdosing often seen in generic formulations.

3. Precision Manufacturing

EVIDOSE® products are manufactured in the UK in an AA rated BRCGS-certified facility, a recognised quality standard used by leading food and nutrition companies. Every stage of production is independently audited to ensure safety, traceability, and quality.

Our manufacturing partners specialise in handling live bacteria, using tightly controlled processes that protect the viability and stability of each strain from production through to the end of shelf life.

This means you can trust that what you see on the label is what you get.

4. Independent Verification

Every batch is tested by an accredited third-party laboratory for purity and safety including checks for heavy metals and pathogens.

5. Responsive to Evidence

Research in microbiome and nutrition science is continually evolving, and what we know today is only part of the picture.

At EVIDOSE®, we follow the research closely, reassessing our formulations as new evidence emerges.

Our goal is to create products that reflect the most current understanding of the science and address gaps where traditional supplement design has fallen short.

6. Informed by Real-World Use

Scientific evidence is only part of the picture. The way people experience our products in everyday life matters just as much.

We pay close attention to customer feedback and use those insights to guide research priorities, refine formulations, and shape future development.
